Dr. Alvord's Journey I always knew I wanted to be a doctor (don't ask me how because I didn't know exactly what that meant at the time), I just didn't know what kind, until my mother went looking for a typing job at a chiropractor's office. It was 1977 and I was 8 years old. None of us knew what chiropractic was, much less how to say the word! I remember when she came home and told my brothers and me, "You kids need to get checked for vertebral subluxations." My first reaction was, "Verta...WHAT???" Then I had this specific thought as a young boy in this society: There's nothing wrong with me, so why do I need to see a doctor, much less a specialist? But it was the very beginning of my journey into understanding this new and special, but very positive thing in my life! He is a local and national Speaker and Educator on Chiropractic. Dr. Alvord received his Chiropractic Philosophy Diplomate and is a lifetime member of the International Chiropractic Association.
