How to Add Your Insurance Information to Your Medximity Profile

Última actualización Jul 03, 2026

Your accepted insurance plans are managed inside Profile Settings under the Insurance & Accepted Plans section of your Medximity provider dashboard. This section controls what patients see when they filter directory search results by insurance type — it is separate from credentialing, billing, or claims workflows inside DigitalPatientChart EHR.

Where Insurance Information Lives on Your Medximity Profile

When a patient searches Medximity and filters by their plan, only provider profiles with that plan listed will appear in results. An incomplete insurance section means your profile may not surface for patients whose coverage you actually accept. Keeping this section current is one of the most direct ways to improve your patient discovery on the platform.

Before You Begin: What You Will Need

Have the following ready before you start:

  • Your Medximity provider account login credentials
  • A current list of the insurance plan types your practice accepts — for example, PPO, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid, workers' compensation, personal injury (lien-based care), and self-pay
  • If you manage more than one location, note which plans apply to each listing

Insurance plan names are selected from a standardized list inside the platform — you do not type free-form entries. If you are preparing for a chiropractic appointment and wondering what insurance information you need, plan type and member ID are the most common details a provider will ask for. Providers enter accepted plan types here, not individual patient member IDs.

Step-by-Step: Adding Insurance Plans to Your Profile

Step 1 — Log In to Your Medximity Dashboard

Go to medximity.com and sign in with your provider account credentials. If you see a patient-facing dashboard rather than provider profile controls, you may be logged into the wrong account type. Provider profile settings are not accessible from a patient account. If you have not yet claimed your listing, see How to Claim and Verify Your Medximity Provider Profile before continuing.

Step 2 — Navigate to Profile Settings

From the main dashboard, select the Profile icon or your name in the top navigation bar. Choose Profile Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 3 — Open the Insurance & Accepted Plans Section

Inside Profile Settings, locate the Insurance & Accepted Plans tab. This section is distinct from Services, Credentials, and Service Area. Select it to open the insurance configuration panel. This is where you enter your insurance information on Medximity.

Step 4 — Select Your Accepted Plan Types

Use the searchable plan list to find and select each insurance type your practice accepts. Common categories include:

  • Commercial PPO plans
  • Commercial HMO plans
  • Medicare
  • Medicaid
  • Workers' compensation
  • Personal injury — lien-based care
  • Self-pay

You can select multiple plan types. There is no limit on how many entries you add, so select every plan type your practice currently accepts.

Step 5 — Save Your Changes

Select the Save button at the bottom of the Insurance & Accepted Plans panel. A confirmation message will appear on screen when the update is saved. See the FAQ below for information on how long changes take to appear on your public profile.

How Your Insurance Information Appears to Patients

Once saved, your accepted plan types display on your public Medximity profile page and feed into the directory's search and matching filters. When a patient filters by their insurance type, only profiles listing that plan will appear in results. If your insurance section is incomplete, your profile may be invisible to patients whose plan you accept — directly reducing new patient inquiries from the directory.

Managing Multiple Locations or a Group Practice

If your practice has multiple locations listed on Medximity, insurance settings are managed per profile. Group practice administrators should verify each provider profile or each location listing individually to ensure consistent insurance visibility across all listings. A practice administrator account may have access to manage profiles on behalf of multiple providers. If you need to set up admin access, see the Provider Onboarding help section or contact Medximity support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which insurance plan types can I list on my Medximity profile?

Medximity supports a broad range of plan types including commercial PPO and HMO plans, Medicare, Medicaid, workers' compensation, and personal injury lien-based care. The available list is standardized within the platform. If a specific plan type your practice accepts does not appear in the list, contact Medximity support to request it be reviewed for addition.

Can I add multiple insurance plans to my profile?

Yes. You can select as many plan types as your practice accepts. Check every applicable entry in the Insurance & Accepted Plans panel and save.

How do I update my insurance information if I join or leave a network?

Return to Profile Settings, open Insurance & Accepted Plans, and add or deselect the relevant plan type. Save your changes. Patients rely on this section to confirm you accept their coverage before requesting an appointment, so review your listed plans whenever your network participation changes. Your listed plans are not automatically synced with payer rosters — updates must be made manually.

How do I remove a plan I no longer accept?

Open Insurance & Accepted Plans in Profile Settings, deselect the plan you want to remove, and save. The plan will be removed from your public profile after the update processes.

How long does it take for changes to appear on my public profile?

In most cases, saved changes appear on your public Medximity directory profile within a short processing period. If your updates are not visible after a reasonable time, clear your browser cache and reload your profile page. If the issue persists, contact Medximity support.

Is the Insurance & Accepted Plans section the same as billing or credentialing in DigitalPatientChart?

No. The insurance information you add to your Medximity profile is directory-facing — it tells patients which plans you accept and makes your profile discoverable in insurance-filtered searches. It is entirely separate from credentialing, eligibility verification, and claims processing workflows inside DigitalPatientChart EHR. For billing and credentialing setup, refer to the DigitalPatientChart EHR help section.

What if my insurance information is wrong on my profile?

Log in to your provider account, navigate to Profile Settings, and open Insurance & Accepted Plans. Deselect any plans listed in error, add any plans that are missing, and save. If the incorrect information persists after saving or you cannot access your profile settings, contact Medximity support for assistance.

Next Steps: Complete Your Provider Profile

Insurance visibility is one piece of a fully optimized profile. Review your Services & Conditions Treated, Service Area, and Credentials & Licenses sections to give patients a complete picture of your practice. A fully completed profile increases your visibility in directory search results and helps patients choose your practice with confidence. If you are preparing patients for their first visit, you may also find it useful to share resources such as How to Prepare for Your Chiropractic Appointment.
