Dr. Daniel Hoover has a rare combination of skills that add to the depth of knowledge he passes onto his patients and students. He is a doctor of chiropractic, a licensed acupuncturist, a certified chiropractic sports physician, a master herbalist, a 5th degree black belt in Shaolin kempo, and the chief tai chi chuan instructor at the School of Healing Martial Arts in Long Beach CA.When Dr. Daniel Hoover was studying martial arts, he was fascinated by the fact that many points on the body were used for both healing and striking opponents. He decided to use this knowledge to combine multiple healing disciplines including massage, chiropractic with the movements of tai chi. After years of training and schooling, he opened the School Of Healing Martial Arts. SOHMA is a place where patients will find Eastern medicine combined with evidence-based therapies and herbal medicine. We take a personalized approach to healing so each person can find a path toward holistic wellness that's easy to walk.
