Born in Ontario Canada, Kalina Scherer always had pets growing up. Dogs and cats were the pets of choice however the occasional hamster did make its way into the house and Dr. Scherer could often be found at the local barn riding or mucking stalls. Deviating from the intended career of vet, Dr. Scherer decided that she wanted to provide a drug-free approach to pet health care and began to think about Chiropractic as the possible solution. Dr. Scherer received her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology with a focus on animal behaviour and biology from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo Ontario, and then moved to upstate New York to attend New York Chiropractic College. In order to provide chiropractic services to animals, Dr. Scherer attended Options For Animals College of Animal Chiropractic and then received received certification by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. Dr. Scherer lives in Beaverton with her husband AJ, cat Peanut Butter and dog Sasha.Kalina Scherer moved to Portland in March 2011 and quickly set up her dream job, helping animals with the drug free approach of animal chiropractic. Dr. Scherer drives around Portland and the surrounding area in her white Jetta Wagon loaded with her adjusting bales, ready to answer the call of an animal in need in the comfort of their own home.
