A propos

Justin B. Gornell graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a concentration in Biological-Psychology. He graduated from New York University in 2001 as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Justin became board certified in orthopedics (OCS - orthopedic clinical specialist) in 2005. Justin has been working with orthopedic and sports-related injuries, as well as making house calls for years. He assists New York University's Physical Therapy program as a master clinician and has recently become one of the first members of TRIARQ. TRIARQ is a network of healthcare professionals creating new standards of excellence through continuing education, research, and a cross discipline collaboration. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and of their Orthopedic Section, constantly keeping up with current research. Justin enjoys running, working out and skiing, as well as spending time with his wife and three young boyParadigm Physical Therapy was started to ensure patients have a positive experience of physical therapy. Paradigm Physical Therapy begins the rehabilitation process with a thorough evaluation for each patient. Next, an individual treatment program will be developed based upon the patients' goals, and findings from the initial evaluation. Patients will be educated about their diagnosis and how their treatment program will address their deficits and prevent any future complications. Additionally, he or she will have the anatomy/physiology, pathology, and biomechanics of the affected body part explained so that their injury is properly understood. Treatment sessions will include therapeutic and functional exercises, manual therapy, postural education, gait training, stretches, and modalities when necessary. Prior to discharge, a home exercise program will be developed to achieve and maintain maximum function.
