On Being a Chiropractor "I especially like meeting new people," says Dr. Mark. He can really get to know his patients and feels getting to know them will make him their best doctor. "I think it's important to establish a safe, comfortable, family atmosphere, where a person can relax knowing they're in great hands." "Patients come with different levels of understanding of our human anatomy, and I've found that one of the biggest challenges in my work is to educate each person to the level they need so they can remain healthy for a lifetime." Getting Started Dr. Mark attended Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge where he met his wife Dr. Vanessa Aucoin. They attended Louisiana State University and then Texas Chiropractic College together. "I've had my best friend with me since high school and she is still with me now. She has been my greatest secret to success." Dr. Mark was able to join Dr. Nelson in 2004 learning from his 25 years experience at that time.One of the very first chiropractors in Baton Rouge, Dr. Nelson opened Ozark Chiropractic Clinic in 1978. The name of our practice comes from Ozark Street, our original location. Over the years Ozark Chiropractic Clinic has placed a continual focus on education and certification, making our staff the best qualified and prepared, and ensuring our doctors are most knowledgeable. Our state of the art facility boasts the latest technology which ensures your care is consistent and your records are clear. Computers in each room allow us to maintain records with ease, and an advanced digital X-ray machine allow us see with better clarity so we have the most possible information when making medical decisions. We can also copy your images to CD so that you can take your images with you if you choose.
