March 2026: UPDATE - The billing practices at Iowa Family Chiropractic have been extremely frustrating to deal with. When I contacted my insurance company, they confirmed they have no claims on file for my son. However, the billing representative at the office insists the claims were submitted and has even suggested that my insurance company is “lying.” That puts patients in the middle of a situation that should be straightforward and transparent. My son paid for services upfront and carries two insurance policies, yet we are still being told he owes money. There has been no clear documentation provided showing claim submission, denials, or explanations of benefits. If claims were submitted, there should be proof. If they were not, patients deserve honesty. Clear communication and proper documentation would go a long way here. Very disappointed with how this has been handled. February 2026: I am very disappointed with the billing practices at Iowa Family Chiropractic. My son has dual insurance coverage. After the primary insurance (his dad’s) processes the claim, the remaining balance should be submitted to the secondary insurance (under my name). We were told that my insurance had been billed twice. However, I personally contacted my insurance company, and they confirmed they have no record of receiving any claims for my son’s dates of service from Iowa Family Chiropractic. Despite this, my son has been charged for outstanding balances that should have been submitted to the secondary insurance. The office has refused to refund the payments while insisting the claims were sent. What makes this even more frustrating is the lack of communication. The person responsible for handling insurance will not speak with me directly. Phone calls are not returned, and I am only able to speak with the receptionist, who is not responsible for submitting claims and cannot resolve the issue. This situation could likely be resolved with clear communication and proper billing follow-through, but instead we are being told conflicting information while being charged for claims that were never submitted to insurance. I hope this office improves its billing transparency and customer communication so other families do not experience the same frustration.

Everythis was awesome until the wife and i moved out of town. After we moved, my account was hit for an appointment that never happened. I called and was informed the issue would be corrected and after three years instead of the issue being corrected they sent me to collections.

I received excellent care. I recommend 100%. After receiving decompression on my neck and low back, along with chiropractic adjustments 2 times weekly, my pain has significantly decreased. I am so grateful for Iowa Family Chiropractic and the wonderful team that have assisted with my well-being.

My chiropractor is wonderful. He always gives me clear answers to my questions and has helped me immensely. He went through my x-rays with me and the scans and explained what's going on. I have NEVER felt rushed nor like I was wasting anyone's time. He is fixing a long-term issue with my hips and I started seeing progress almost immediately. Everyone in the downtown Des Moines Iowa office has a great personality and the decompression bed is awesome. My chiropractor is Dr. Anethon Thiravong.

Kelly is FANTASTIC! She's gentle, grounded and fully present and personable. The kids feel safe and are experiencing the difference in a positive way working with her.
