I’ve been seeing Dr. Karah Charette for three years, this review is LONG OVERDUE. She’s by far the most holistic pelvic floor physical therapist I’ve seen in 10 years of treatment. Karah is incredibly easy to connect with. She really listens, truly collaborates on my care, and makes me feel comfortable like she’s a friend (of course maintaining her professionalism). She tailors each session to what I need that day (bladder, pelvic pain, stomach issues, etc) & gets right to ensuring we use the session time efficiently. Her hands are magic, her mind is brilliant, and she goes far beyond what I ever expected from a pelvic floor physical therapist. She’s equally skilled at internal mechanisms & external mechanisms for myofascial release (like stacking) She encouraged me to see a specialized endometriosis doctor because, based on what she was feeling during treatment, she thought I might have endometriosis. She was right. After 10 years of struggling to get diagnosed, Karah referred me to the doctor that diagnosed me. She even connected me to other peer to peer support. She’s constantly pursuing continuing education to learn about conditions that aren’t even typically covered in physical therapy school (such as Pelvic Venous Disease, PeVD). She’s incredibly curious, always looking for new ways to better help her patients, and it shows in every appointment and emails. She’s also the first physical therapist who ever considered my diaphragm as part of my pelvic floor treatment—and wow, was my diaphragm tight. She also taught me how to breathe properly!!! She doesn’t just perform treatment; she explains what she’s feeling, what muscles she’s working on, how everything connects, and why it matters. Every session is both therapeutic and educational. She’s given me the language & skills to take care of myself. Karah is amazing at recommending practical tools I can use at home, like toe spacers to improve alignment and balance, at-home cupping, and teaching me how to use those tools correctly. She’s always thinking about what will help me continue making progress outside the clinic. She also consistently sends me home with additional resources, whether that’s recommendations for sex therapists, mental health providers, acupuncturists, or other specialists. She referred me to an incredible nutritionist, and she’s always willing to share what’s worked in her own experience when it’s appropriate. She’s incredibly well networked in the holistic care community & can also recommend MDs she’s heard good things about. What stands out most is that Karah genuinely cares. She treats the whole person, not just the pelvic floor, and she’s one of the rare providers who makes you feel truly heard, believed, and supported. I recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for exceptional pelvic floor physical therapy. Logistics: her portal is easy to asynchronously schedule on, she’s very responsive via text & email, she provides superbills for insurance even before the session!!! GO KARAH!!

Working with Karah Charette during preparation for my first birth has felt incredibly meaningful. We’ve focused on internal pelvic mapping and trigger point work within the pelvic bowl. I’ve deeply appreciated the chosen slow pace of our sessions. It's tempting to try and fit too much into one appointment, as there's so many things that deserve attention, but having a single focus has allowed me to truly experience and integrate the work. My relationship with my pelvic floor has strengthened so much through this process of mapping, awareness, and exploration. Honest, it feels like some of the most important preparation I could be doing for birth. I’ve also really appreciated being able to invite my partner into sessions and to learn how to do the mapping himself. It's offering us both comfort and confidence.

I sought out Karah and pelvic floor PT to support my recovery following pregnancy and a c-section. At six weeks post-partum, she taught me about scar tissue massage and different ways to strengthen my core. Just after one session with her, I noticeably experienced increased blood flow and mobility in the area around by c-section incision. She also provided me with exercises I could do alone at home, and it has been so helpful in my recovery. Just a few weeks after seeing her, I notice myself getting stronger and much less pain. Karah takes the time to explain both the theory and provide concrete exercises to continue at home. She provides a holistic explanation of the pelvic floor, and how it is connected with different parts of the body along with our behaviors and movement. I cannot recommend her enough, especially for anyone during pregnancy and after birth.

I started seeing Dr. Karah in my third trimester when I was dealing with intense, pinpoint back pain that hadn’t improved after multiple chiropractor visits. From the very first appointment, I felt immediate relief. She asked thoughtful, specific questions, quickly identified the source of my pain, and worked her magic. Within an hour, I felt like a new person. I continued seeing her almost weekly throughout the rest of my pregnancy, and her guidance was invaluable. She not only helped me stay pain-free but also taught me how to understand and engage my pelvic floor muscles to prepare for labor. Thanks to her care and education, I felt physically ready for birth, and I truly believe my delivery went more smoothly because of her. Now, almost 10 weeks postpartum, I’m still seeing her as I work on rebuilding strength, and I continue to be so grateful for her support and expertise. Dr. Karah is warm, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to helping her patients feel empowered in their bodies. I can’t recommend her highly enough!

Having taught barre and Pilates for over 10 years, I've seen firsthand the significant physical changes pregnancy brings, and unfortunately, the preventable challenges women face when pelvic floor health is overlooked, leading to unnecessary discomfort and injury. This firsthand knowledge made choosing a pelvic floor therapist crucial for my own pregnancy. I found Dr. Karah at Bodyful Physical Therapy and Wellness in my second trimester, and she quickly became an indispensable part of my journey. Her guidance was empowering, preparing me for labor in a way I didn't know was possible. Thanks to her incredible care, I had an amazing birth experience, pushing my baby out in a mere 40 minutes – a labor I'd happily repeat! Dr. Karah is truly exceptional, and I cherish the support and expertise she provided.
