Graduating early from Life Chiropractic College at the age of 24, Dr. Lowry established his first practice in 1989. He quickly expanded into 3 practices training other doctors to care for patients with his unique patient management, addressing the chemical, physical and emotional stressors that cause dysfunction of the spine and nervous system. Dr. Lowry has been featured on radio & television. He has been a guest lecturer at local businesses, churches & schools. Since graduating as Valedictorian from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1988, Dr. Roodman has published articles inChiropractic Sports Medicine Journal&Athletix Magazine. He is a member of the Virginia & American Chiropractic Association. Dr. Roodman was selected as one of a few chiropractors to be a member of the North American Spine Society in 2004. Amongst the many disciplines offered, their progressive practice includes a physical therapy dept., to optimize the outcome of chiropractic with rehabilitative exercise.Prior to their merger in 2005 Drs. Roodman and Lowry were in practice individually for 15 years. Because of their shared interests in physical therapy and exercise rehabilitation respectively, these two professionals decided to join forces to create the most progressive level of quality Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) service. The Advanced Wellness Centre was born and found its new 10,000 sq ft. home in March 2006. Shortly thereafter acupuncture was added to the chiropractic, physical therapy and massage foundation of CAM disciplines. Hypnotherapy, nutritional counseling and fitness training were also included to expand the multidisciplinary offerings at AWC. By January 2010 the two founders of the center were committed to structuring a therapeutic lifestyle change program to address the epidemic of preventable chronic disease. In September 2011 this program officially became part of the Sports Performance & Wellness Institute in affiliation with the Advanced Orthopedics.
