Originally from the Netherlands and Dutch-trained, Olaf moved to the United States in the late 1980s. He worked at The Methodist Hospital, several private outpatient clinics, and saw patients through a home health company in Houston, TX. Olaf then moved and settled in Boulder, CO in 1993. Here he has focused on gaining experience in orthopedic injuries and manual therapy in various clinics. Olaf founded Active Solutions Physical Therapy in 1999. Olaf's mission is to help his patients achieve optimal function. He improves his patients' quality of life and overall health by treating and resolving their pain. His treatments are mostly a combination of joint mobilizations and manipulations along with exercise and instructions. His main interests are treating people with back pain and and orthopedic injuries. Besides physical therapy, Olaf enjoys spending time with his children, mountain biking, telemark skiing and playing chess.

Are you looking to give your pain the boot and get back to your active lifestyle? Active Solutions Physical Therapy can help! We use gentle hands-on methods to relieve your pain and improve function. Manual Therapy Includes joint mobilization, manipulation and soft tissue mobilization. These techniques aim to release tension in injured tissues to help you get back to normal function. Feldenkrais Method Uses gentle touch and movement as well as directed attention to increase self-awareness, improve flexibility and coordination and help you return to fluid movement and balance. Customized Exercise Programs An individual home-based program can be designed for you so you will be active in your recovery from injury and will work towards getting back to your normal routine. Treatment Modalities Used in conjunction with manual treatment and exercise, these include ultrasound, iontophoresis, dry needling, and electro-stimulation, among others. Dry needling involves using a thin needle to release tension of a trigger point in the muscle. Electro-stimulation is used to promote muscle strengthening and reduce pain.
