Hi, my name is Darren Ryland and I am the owner, manager and therapist at Medissage in Zachary. In March of 2010 I was involved in a very serious accident with an 18-wheeler while riding my motorcycle. It was through this horrific ordeal that I was able to go back to school and start a new career in the field of therapeutic massage and bodywork. I began studying at Medical Training College in Baton Rouge in January of 2011 and after graduating at the top of my class became a licensed therapist in November of that same year. I then traveled to Pensacola, Florida in 2012 to study Orthopedic Massage from one of the leaders in the industry, James Waslaski. In 2013 my journey took me to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where I studied Myoskeletal Alignment Technique from another pioneer in the field, Erik Dalton. These two men and massage therapy have changed my life! Give me a call and see what it can do for yours.Medissage was started in the late summer of 2015. It was started to fill a need, a couple of needs actually. I was working in Denham Springs and wanted a job closer to home and Zachary was sorely lacking in therapeutic massage and bodywork services. There are some excellent chiropractors and physical therapists in town, but there were no real therapeutic massage practices. So, with a passion for helping people live less painful and more productive lives I began this journey.
