Dr. Mary Brechtel came to Galveston in 1998 upon graduating from Texas Chiropractic College (TCC), where in addition to her regular studies she completed a spine surgery rotation at UTMB. During her stay in Galveston, she became endeared with Galveston County and its people and decided to open her first practice on Stewart Road (6511 Stewart Rd. Suite 7). After 12 years of practice Dr. Malott-Brechtel had built her own custom-built clinic just a few block from her original location. This change of locaton precipitated the name change to HealthMatters Chiropractic. She chose this name because she wanted the name to reflected her mission statement-that your health matters to us. Dr. Brechtel is a certified in Acupuncture, Board Certified in Clinical Nutrition*, and is currently seeking a certification in Pediatric Chiropractic. Dr. Brechtel owns and operates HerbalQuest Nutrition Store on the Island. (*American Clinical Board of Nutrition)Originally Malott Chiropractic, HealthMatters was started in 1999 by Dr. Mary Malott-Brechtel. She has grown the practic over the years, and now has two associate doctors with her at her new Galveston location. Over the years, Dr. Brechtel has supported Galveston events and charaties and currently serves on the Rotary Foundation board. Dr. Brechtel was recently added as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at UTMB for her participation in the education of medical students on complementary medicine.

Safe Gentle Family Chiropractic Care! We specialize in Complementary care for the whole family. To do so we take a whole body approach to treating health issues by combining chiropractic, acupuncture, massage therapy, and nutrition counseling into our patient care. Our doctors are well trained in multiple adjusting techniques and will find the best way to assist you with your care needs. Our private rooms, relaxing atmosphere, and competent staff create an environment conducive to healing. Our Nutrition Store ensures you have access to only the best nutritional products, and our Board Certified doctor (American Clinical Board of Nutrition) can address any nutritional issue you may have. Children are welcome at the clinic and we have certain services geared especially for assisting children with postural, chiropractic, and neurosensory issues.

Excellent facility and staff. Started with massages with Brooke(fabulous deep tissue.. not a knot left behind) Then she recommended Chiropractic care and I was very skeptical. Saw Dr. Massare and she has been excellent throughout treatment. I would recommend both to anyone!!!
