The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) gives you specific rights regarding your protected health information (PHI):
- Right to access — You can request and receive copies of your medical records.
- Right to amend — You can request corrections to inaccurate records.
- Right to an accounting of disclosures — You can request a list of entities your information has been shared with.
- Right to restrict — You can request restrictions on certain uses of your information.
- Right to confidential communications — You can request that we contact you at a specific address or phone number.
- Right to revoke authorization — You can withdraw consent for specific data sharing at any time.
How to Exercise Your Rights
Most of these actions can be performed directly through your Medximity dashboard under Profile > Privacy. For formal HIPAA requests, you can also contact our Privacy Officer.
