I’m Shirley Montoya, the owner and sole practitioner of SpiritScienceMedicine, a holistic wellness sanctuary in Humboldt Park. As your Guide and Coach, I’m here to envelop you in compassion and care on your unique wellness journey. In our busy lives, it’s easy to overlook our body’s whispers and the toll of stress. My mission is to help you understand your challenges, listen to your body’s wisdom, and untangle physical discomfort, spiritual unrest, and emotional turmoil. With expertise from the Soma Institute, Postural Restoration Institute, Blue Lotus Thai Healing Studies, and The Lab I integrate the art and science of well-being through Massage Therapy, Sound Healing, Trigger Point Therapy, Thai Massage, Reiki, Myofascial Decompression Cupping, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Postural Restoration Techniques and Pilates. Let’s co-create customized care for your body, mind, and spirit—embracing holistic well-being, one step at a time.My wellness journey began in 2013, working at gyms, spas, Chiropractors, and boutiques. I took the plunge and opened my practice in November 2019, but unfortunately the pandemic hit. This led me to rent a room at Sanar Aesthetics in August 2020, where I resided for nearly 4 years. In 2023-2024, I completed a residency studying under two Physical Therapists at Pilates Central Wellness. I learned the lens they use to treat patients called Postural Restoration from the Postural Restoration Institute. This experience opened my eyes to the importance of addressing the root causes of chronic pain, leading me to provide my clients with more solutions than just massage. After this training finished I began Pilates training as well. As my vision grew bigger I knew it was time to move into my own space. In June 2024, I moved into my new studio, bringing my vision to life. Now, I’m excited to offer Pilates classes alongside my holistic therapies, creating a sanctuary for wellness and growth.
