Dr. Sheaffer received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1987. He completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) specializing in orthopedics from Chatham University in 2004. Dr. Sheaffer has attended extensive post graduate continuing education and possesses advanced manual therapy skills. Dr. Sheaffer specializes in grade 5 mobilization of the spine and extremities. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1979-1983 achieving the rank of sergeant. In his free time, Dr. Sheaffer enjoys spending time with his family, watching his son play ice hockey as well as golfing, bass fishing, and cooking.Dr. Karl Sheaffer opened Orthopedic Physical Therapy Specialists in 2004. With the idea that he could provide patient focused, consistent quality of care with a focus on improved outcomes. Dr. Sheaffer felt that the best interests of the patient and achieving patient goals were second to profit. From a belief that patient's can improve quicker and at significantly less out of pocket cost when consistent goal oriented patient care is the focus. Upon obtaining his Doctorates of Physical Therapy and with the newly passed Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Direct Access laws in place, Dr. Karl felt the time was perfect. Orthopedic Physical Therapy Specialists was born.
