Selena attended Harmony Path School of Massage Therapy in Rocky River where she obtained her Ethical Massage Practitioner Certificate in 2007 and her license in Massage Therapy through the State of Ohio Medical Board in February of 2009. After relocating to South Dakota in October of 2009 she took the MBLEX exam becoming licensed through the state of South Dakota Health Board. In April 2017 Selena completed her course work through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies and became a Complete Lymphedema Therapist. Her experience includes Orthopathic Neuromuscular Therapy, Lymphedema Management Training, Clinical Sports Massage of the Lower Extremity, training techniques in Chronic Neck Injuries, and Massage for the Hospice Patient. She also has received instruction in acupressure to reduce physical and mental discomfort. She has worked alongside Chiropractors in Sioux Falls and Mitchell, SD as well as leading the Massage Therapy program at Avera McKennan Hospital's Prairie Cancer Center.After working in cancer centers, fitness centers, spa's and chiropractic clinics Selena opened The Massage Center in Mitchell, SD. With a passion for helping others she saw a need to continue her education in the area of Lymphedema Therapy eventually changing the name of her business to Massage and Wellness. Having built a successful business in South Dakota her decision to relocate back to Ohio where she is originally from was bittersweet having made lasting connections with the clients in South Dakota. The stories my clients have shared as I decided to move to Ohio were both rewarding and humbling. Not only are their lives forever changed, range of motion improved and pain reduced, they have become like family over the years as we have celebrated births, holidays, and occasions through stories and pictures, as well as provided a sacred space through their massage time for grieving the loss of loved ones. I would be blessed immeasurably if I can accomplish the same here in Ohio.
