Kristin is the Owner and Managing Director of Down Dog Yoga Center in downtown Kalamazoo, MI where she teaches weekly yoga classes as well as offering Thai bodywork and group, corporate, and private yoga instruction. She completed her 200 hr teacher certification in 2009 at 7 Centers Yoga Arts in Sedona, AZ in a program that studied Yoga, Ayurveda, and Vedic Astrology. In addition to teaching over 1000 hours since 2009, she has also completed her 300 hr teacher certification with Melissa Spamer in 2016. Kristin teaches a blend of traditional hatha and vinyasa flow yoga that connects you to breath and the flow of prana within. The mission of Kristin's studio, Down Dog Yoga Center, is to connect people to healthy living, creativity and community through yoga and the healing arts, and Kristin is passionate about this mission.Down Dog Yoga Center is a collaborative effort. The vision was first formed by Owner and Managing Director, Kristin Fiore. Kristin has been teaching yoga in the Kalamazoo area since 2009 and wanted to create a yoga center with two yoga studios to support dual programming and showers to make transitioning to and from yoga more convenient. The vision is about supporting community, creativity and healthy living through high quality yoga programs and bodywork offerings. It also includes the merging of Awake and Aware, a yoga and massage business that existed for the last 10 years in the Parkview Hills area of Kalamazoo. Judy Huxmann and Cynthia Hoss, former owners of Awake and Aware, now offer their massage services and yoga classes out of Down Dog Yoga Center and their wisdom and experience is a wonderful addition and support to Kristin's vision.
