I began my undergraduate studies in Kinesiology at York University before moving on to Chiropractic College in the US. I graduated from the University of Bridgeport, College of Chiropractic in Connecticut in 2002 with my Doctorate in Chiropractic and went off to Beijing, China to start my studies in Acupuncture and Eastern Medicine. I've studied various techniques over the years including Gonstead, Sacral-Occipital, Cranial and Webster/Pediatric. In 2012, I completed my certification in Functional Cranial Release (FCR/CFR) and became one of the first Chiropractors in Canada to offer this unique procedure to patients suffering from chronic TMJ, sinusitis, tinnitus, eustachian tube blockages or a deviated septum. Throughout my studies, I've always had a unique interest in eastern wisdom teachings which has led me down various paths that intersect health, consciousness and spirituality. Exploring Buddhist and Hindu philosophy through Vedic ....For nearly 18+ years, Yonge Finch Chiropractic & Health Centre has come to be recognized as a place that provides excellence in Chiropractic and Acupuncture. Both Dr John and Shant believe in a vitalistic model of health and the two brothers combine decades of clinical experience and masterful technique in delivering an integrated holistic approach to health care. Functional Cranial Release (FCR) - also called Cranial Facial Release (CFR) is a relatively new and non-invasive endonasal balloon procedure that corrects chronic restrictions and mis-alignments of the head and facial bones and removes blockages in the sinus channels and eustachian tubes. One of the largest and most important cranial bones is the sphenoid. A butterfly shaped bone that sits behind the nose with the upper edge of the 'butterfly wings' extending to the temples and the lower 'legs' of the bone forming the back of the mouth and jaw. It's the ONLY bone of the skull that connects with every other bone. Therefore, the position of the sphenoid affects the alignment and function of the entire cranium. Chronic sinus blockages and eustachian tube conditions present with complex symptomatology that includes facial pain, inflammation, hearing loss, echo/ringing (tinnitus) and jaw dysfunction (TMJ). FCR has proven to open the channels and release the chronic blockages to allow for proper drainage of the maxillary sinuses and eustachian tubes. In fact, an immediate 'pop' is heard during the procedure as the channels open and pressure is released.
