I was raised in Wichita with parents that originated from Hawaii and Kansas. I had a sports background that ranged from racing bmx to mountain bikes and soccer. I did my undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas. It was during my time at college and still being involved in sports when things became clear to me. I recalled going to see our family chiropractor for maintenance care during all my sports injury times. Our chiropractor had always taken care of my dad who worked over 30 years running a printing press. The picture that was so clear in my mind was the personal relationship my dad always had with Dr. Butler, he was literally a friend of the family. What a great aspect of life that you can have that kind of influence on someones health.I had the opportunity to grow up through the midwest in a blue collar working family. My father worked printing presses for 36 years and visited our family chiropractor for maintenance care. I was involved in sports with mountain bikes, soccer and baseball all my life. I always found a way to get injured as my mom would say. So my dad started bringing me to the chiropractic office with him. Over the years it became more clear that our chiropractor was someone I could count on to help keep me playing sports. Years later I was in college on an athletic scholarship and reflected back to the help my chiropractor had in keeping me healthy. It was at that time I knew what I wanted to do with my life.
