소개

Originally from Wichita, Kris got her bachelors from KU & her masters in OT from Western Michigan University. She has over 20 years' experience as an OT, most of those years in pediatric settings and over half in private practice. After many years of being away, she returned to Wichita and eventually opened TheraPlay Spot in June 2012 with the mission of making a positive quality-of-life difference with children and their families. Passionate about OT, she enjoys teaching parents practical strategies to make the most of therapy. Kris is also a public speaker on Sensory Processing Disorder, pediatric OT strategies, and entrepreneurship.TheraPlay Spot has been serving Wichita kids since 2012. Our mission is to provide effective occupational, physical, and speech therapy in a friendly environment. We look forward to adding you to our long history of happy customers.

TheraPlay Spot helps children from birth to 18 who have mild to moderate special needs. We work with developmental, neurological, and even some orthopedic diagnoses. Pediatric Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy is provided either in our new clinic in a wonderful new location, in your home, at the child's daycare or preschool, or at a private school. Our experienced, state-licensed, and playful occupational, physical, and speech therapy clinicians create individualized therapy goals along with parent input. Depending on the disability or need, giving independence may be as simple as providing a piece of adaptive equipment or teaching a simple strategy to compensate and adapt to the environment. For example, an appropriate pencil grip may make the difference between finishing an assignment or having fingers get tired and cramped. We'll help kids develop increased core strength to help improve balance and coordination. Sometimes we will teach a sensory strategy so that a child can learn to self-soothe instead of having a meltdown. The primary goal is to have the child, given any disability or additional need, be as functional and independent as possible.
