I am an acupuncturist. I have been in the business for 8 years now. I specialized in acute injuries, sports injuries, and women's health. Acupuncture treats different symptoms. Each symptom corresponds to different pressure points on your body. When the needles are placed on those points, it helps the qi move to relieve pain and discomfort. My clinic uses electrotherapy to treat deep tissue pain on any part of the body. Electric currents are transferred through the therapist and into problem areas in your muscles. The therapist will focus on parts of your body that you feel pain. Electrotherapy can be used during facials and for weight loss. Cupping, made even more popular by Michael Phelps, is used to detox the body. The cups are heated by fire and are placed on your back. It pulls the toxins out of your body and relieves muscle fatigue and relaxes your body.
