Dr. Nakata was born in Seattle and raised in the Pierce County community of Graham. His high academic achievements, along with his athletic awards in tennis and basketball, earned him scholarships that helped him complete his science requirements at the University of Washington. He was accepted at the Palmer College of Chiropractic-West and finished a four year program in three years, graduating cum laude and placing 7th in the 1992 graduating class of 125 chiropractors. In his free time, you will often find Dr. Nakata, his wife Nikki and their three children experiencing all that Puget Sound has to offer - Fishing, Golfing, camping or coaching soccer or basketball.Dr. David Nakata, DC. was very fortunate to be able to assume the practice of Dr. Gordon Mendenhall, DC. - noted as one of Seattle's finest chiropractors for over 20 years. He named his clinic the "Ballard Wellness Clinic" to emphasize his positive approach to health and life. Dr. David Nakata’s practice is currently operated and scheduled by Dr. Gabby Kochelayev. The Ballard Wellness Clinic expanded on May 1, 2017, adding Therapeutic Massage which closed in March of 2023. The massage therapy team can be found at Anxient Embers, a Health & Wellness Boutique also located in Ballard, Seattle WA.
