Dr. Dean Shepherd is a third-generation chiropractor and an honors graduate of Parker College of Chiropractic, class of 1986. Dr. Shepherd's grandfather and grandmother, Drs. I.A. Shepherd and Christine Shepherd were among the pioneers of chiropractic. In 1988 Dr. Dean took over his father's practice. Today, Dr. Shepherd's focus continues to be on implementing the purest form of true chiropractic methods along with his extremely effective wellness practices to assist the body in rebalancing and healing from within. He is certified in using Bio Energy Synchronization Technique (BEST), Applied Kinesiology, Activator, Brimhall Percussor Technique, New-Stim Bio Kinetics (BK), Contact Reflex Analysis (CRA), CranioBiotic Technique, and Bio Cranial Systems, and so much more. Another foundation in Dr. Shepherd's philosophies is proper nutrition which assist the body in healing. Homeopathic medicines may also be prescribed by the doctor for healing and pain relief.Shepherd Chiropractic began with Dr. Christine Shepherd, Dr. Dean Shepherd's grandmother, back in the 1940s. She passed along her business to Dr. Irv Shepherd, and in 1988, Dr. Dean Shepherd took over for his father here at Shepherd Chiropractic Family Wellness Center. The practice recently moved from The Shops at Legacy in Plano to its newest location in North Dallas near Addison.
