Before starting his career as a massage therapist, Dru was running a small business as a personal trainer while following a recommendation to try massage therapy as supplemental income. Thinking massage therapy was purely for relaxation, he was a little skeptical but went searching for a massage school anyway. While attending an open house, Dru was lucky to be the massage demo for bodywork while nursing a minor shoulder injury at the same time. He went through 10-15 minutes of excruciating pain due to the scar tissue and inflammation that built up from the injury, but after the treatment was done, he had almost little to no pain in his shoulder (as well as pain with motion). Being blown away at what bodywork/deep tissue therapy can do for pain management, Dru knew immediately that he wanted to specialize in this type of work to help people achieve a better quality of life.I have received my associates degree at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, which consists of 1000 hours of training and focuses more on the Asian modalities of therapeutic massage. After being a fitness instructor for over 5 years, I had been taught the importance of massage for optimal health and well-being and decided to make it my career since I love it so much. I am now to the point in my career where I am cannot take on additional clientele so I have hired additional massage therapists where I feel their skill level is up to my standards, and more importantly, my clients.
