How to Upload and Manage Your Profile Photo and Logo on Medximity

Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Your profile photo and practice logo are the first things patients notice on your Medximity listing. This guide covers how to upload, update, and troubleshoot both images — including accepted file types, recommended dimensions, and what patients see after you save.

Profile Photo vs. Practice Logo: What Goes Where

These are two separate image fields with different purposes. Understanding the difference between your profile photo and practice logo helps your listing look polished and professional.

  • Profile photo: A headshot of you, the provider. This appears next to your name in search results, on your profile page, and in patient-facing directory listings. It builds personal trust.
  • Practice logo: Your brand mark or wordmark. It appears in the header area of your profile page and reinforces your practice identity. It does not replace your profile photo.

No — you cannot use your business logo as your profile photo. Each field is designated for a specific image type. Uploading a logo into the photo field will result in a cropped, poorly formatted display.

To add your practice logo to your provider listing:

  1. Log in to your Medximity provider dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Profile > Photos & Media.

How to Update or Replace an Existing Image

Need to update your provider profile picture online or swap out an old logo? The process is the same as the initial upload:

  1. Go to Profile > Photos & Media.
  2. Click the existing image thumbnail.
  3. Select Replace Image.
  4. Choose your new file and confirm the crop.
  5. Click Save.

The old image is removed as soon as you save. You do not need to delete it separately.

Image Requirements and Best Practices

Accepted file types

Medximity accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP for both image fields. GIF and HEIC files are not supported.

Recommended dimensions

  • Profile photo: 400 × 400 px minimum; 800 × 800 px recommended. Square crop.
  • Practice logo: 600 × 200 px minimum; horizontal or square formats both work. PNG with transparent background preferred.
  • Maximum file size: 5 MB for both fields.

What makes a strong provider photo?

The best photo for a chiropractor profile page — or any provider specialty — follows a few consistent rules. Use a professional headshot taken against a neutral background. Wear your clinical attire. Make sure your face is well-lit and fills at least 60% of the frame. Candid or casual photos reduce patient confidence and can make your profile appear incomplete.

A complete, professional profile — including a clear headshot and recognizable logo — signals credibility to patients comparing providers in your area. Mobile uploads

You can upload images from a mobile device using your device's browser. The crop tool works on both iOS and Android. For best results, use a file saved to your camera roll rather than a live camera capture.

Troubleshooting Upload Issues

Profile photo not uploading to Medximity

  • Confirm the file is JPG, PNG, or WebP. Other formats will be rejected silently.
  • Check that the file is under 5 MB. Compress the image and retry.
  • Clear your browser cache, then attempt the upload again.

Why is my profile image not showing up on the live listing?

  • Allow up to 15 minutes after saving for the image to appear publicly.
  • Hard-refresh the listing page (Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows; Cmd + Shift + R on Mac).
  • Confirm you clicked Save and received a confirmation message. If no confirmation appeared, the file may not have uploaded.

Image appears distorted or stretched

  • Re-upload using the recommended square dimensions for profile photos.
  • For logos, avoid uploading very tall or very narrow images. A horizontal rectangle at 3:1 ratio works best.

File is rejected immediately on upload

  • HEIC files (common on iPhone) must be converted to JPG before uploading. Use your phone's export settings or a free online converter.
  • GIF files are not accepted. Convert to PNG.
