Originally From Oak Park, IL, Dr. Nugent graduated from National University of Health Sciences as a Chiropractic Physician. With his business partner, Dr. Jennifer Strang, started River Forest Health and Wellness, an alternative health care facility, which brings a functional, patient centered approach to modern medicine. Dr Nugent, certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) aka McKenize Therapy, specializes in sports and musculoskeletal disorders, such as low back pain, disc herniations, rotator cuff syndrome, migraines and foot disorders like plantar fasciitis. Dr. Strang, a Diplomate American Board of Chiropractic Acupuncture (DABCA), specializes a wide range of services and treatments which include acupuncture, nutritional consulting, pre and postnatal care, endocrine disorders and Kinesio Taping.

Our medical team at River Forest Health and Wellness combines sports medicine, chiropractic, physical therapy, massage therapy and acupuncture to target our patient's unique needs. Our goal is to provide patient-centered care to reduce pain, restore function and properly educate our patients on the most successful ways to prevent injury and achieve their health related goals. We accomplish this with the most current evidence based sports medicine, chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapy and massage therapy. With a focus on patient education, the patients at River Forest Health and Wellness excel faster than other medical offices. Our philosophy is if our staff properly educates our patients on proper self treatment tools, they can effectively treat themselves 14-18 hours a day, while our physicians can only treat patients 30 - 45 minutes, 1-2 times a week. This reduces office visits, patients out of pocket cost and get them back to doing the things they love sooner!
