I am a licensed physical therapist and have been practicing in this field for more than 25 years. I am licensed in both California and Germany. I've worked in hospitals and outpatient physical therapy clinics for many years, several in Germany and more than 15 years in California as well. I graduated with a degree in physical therapy from the Frankfurt/Main University Clinic in Germany. I pursued further training in nontraditional manual therapies with the Upledger Institute in the United States. I am a Certified CranioSacral Therapist, and a Certified Teaching Assistant in CranioSacral Therapy, including Pediatrics, through the Upledger Institute. I am also certified in Lympedema/Complex Decongestive Physiotherapy. I am involved in our community: I am holding monthly lymphedema-education-exercise-prevention classes at CPMC. Call for more information I am a consultant at San Francisco General Hospital for Early lymphedema detection.I founded Rising Sun Physical Therapy beginning with only a few patients in the living room of my house, while my kids were at school. At the same time, I worked at the local hospital as a Physical Therapist. Soon I realized, that I needed to expand: i found a room for rent, where I began to see patients two afternoons per week at Union Street. But soon I grew tired of traveling around the city and working at 3 different locations at the same time. That's when I decided to quit my job, and move my business downtown to work full time as a PT in one office. At the end of 2005, we opened the doors to our patients near Union Square on Sutter Street. Our small office continues to grow, in spite of economic crises and health care reforms. Reductions of reimbursements are a continuous challenge for us, but we are still dedicated to give the best and most effective treatments to you.
