After graduating with honors with a degree in Physical Therapy from Florida A&M University, Teresa launched her career in Georgia and has since worked in a variety of settings with individuals of all ages. Teresa was an adjunct professor at her alma mater, where she taught Neurology and Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Her passion for education and desire to help others prompted Teresa to fulfill her lifelong goal of obtaining a doctorate in Physical Therapy at Nova Southeastern University. She received her Doctorate in PT in 2018. Teresa connects with a variety of organizations to increase community awareness about health, wellness and fitness. She provided court-side treatment for Albany Technical College’s basketball team and delivered humanitarian aid to natives of Haiti. Teresa has served as a clinical instructor and supervisor for physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students and volunteers. Teresa uses her knowledge to improve the quality of life of others.In 2013, a burning desire to move out of my traditional employee roll as a physical therapist came upon me yet again. I’d dreamed of giving back to my hometown for a number of years. It appeared to be the time to pursue those dreams. In 2013, I started the venture of establishing a business, which started out as Physical Therapy Works-now PT Works. I prepared for the ultimate goal of providing outpatient physical therapy to patients of all ages. With the support of my family, the journey began. Although business did extremely well for a few years, change was inevitable. I ultimately decided to close the doors of the business in Jasper in June 2017. This would not be the end for the business, just an opportunity to regroup and revise the business plan and model. I packed up and prepared to start a new venture in Atlanta. We are currently a thriving small private practice in the heart of an historic portion of East Point Georgia.
