Hello I'm Dr. Joe Mateo, PT, DPT, C-PS and I specialize in orthopedics and sports medicine. I studied kinesiology at San Francisco State University and in 2017, earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine in San Marcos, CA. I am currently preparing for a 7-hour exam to become a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in February 2024. I was born and raised in San Francisco (as you may have guessed from the color scheme on my website). Growing up I played basketball, football, and baseball. Nowadays, I stay active by lifting weights, riding my bike, and hiking.Dr. Joe Mateo has been a licensed physical therapist since 2017, specializing in outpatient orthopedics. In 2022, he decided it was time to offer physical therapy his way and to really put clients first, and so Joe Mateo Physical Therapy & Performance Medicine was formed.
