Mary Hart, Physical Therapist, is the founder of Hart Physical Therapy in Sarasota, FL and The Hart Technique®, a unique, collaborative treatment method with a integrative, whole body approach. Ms Hart received a degree in physical therapy from the University of California's School of Medicine at San Francisco. She went on to Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Vallejo, California to complete a residency in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), specializing in treating movement disorders and neurological conditions. After receiving her internationally recognized certification in PNF, she began work on the development of The Hart Technique®. In 2019 she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Utica College. The Hart Technique® seeks to evaluate and treat the root cause of pain and movement impairment, rather than managing symptoms. I am so grateful to have found Mary! With 2 painful herniated disks in my thoracic spine, I did not want surgery. With Mary's whole body approach and exercises, I am learning new ways of moving and being in my body (a re-education), the pain is gone, and I feel stronger!

Mary is kind and patient, listens to your concerns and explains her plan of approach to your pain. I had been to the local big operation PT groups and I was miserable. A history of steroid shots and powerful medicines. I highly recommend Hart PT. Mary has a holistic approach, and has vastly lessened my chronic pain and improved my health and outlook.

I came from Washington state to work with Mary after watching her help my friend return from a wheelchair to walking. It was nothing short of a miracle. In 10 short sessions, I am able to access and move my body in ways I never thought possible, and can feel seven decades of old patterning falling away. Mary is a true, gifted healer! Mary Hart is a blessing to anyone in need of physical therapy. That is an understatement. She is absolutely fabulous. Before I went to see her, my hip was tight and painful and was something that I had been coping with for a long time. After a thorough evaluation of my hip pain, and performing an array of treatments all over my body, I was stunned as to how much pain free movement Mary was able to get out of my hip, and that was only on my first treatment. She is gentle, patient and extremely knowledgeable and skillful about treating the source of pain. She focuses on the cause of it and the results are truly remarkable. Mary explains what is going on in your body and also explains in detail what she is doing to treat the cause and why. Mary also gave me a host of easy exercises to do at home for long-term health. Because of Mary and her holistic approach in treating the cause and not just the symptoms, I know surgery is not something that I would have to think about. I would recommend her to anyone that is in pain. She is truly gifted.
