Dr. Nygaard, Lesa, and Jamal at Atlas Brain and Body have all helped me immensely these last 3 months. I have had mild to moderate neck and back pain for the last 8-10 years (at least) that I had grown so accustomed to that I never thought about seeing a cervical spine specialist until my pain level became dire. I found out about Dr. Nygaard through a former partner who had discovered him on Google when he was having neck issues. He had a positive experience at the time, and I remembered the name and looked him up 4 years later. As a very physical person who has been doing dance, athletics, pole, and partnered acrobatics all that time, apparently I had needed to come in for a while, but at 36 years old, not bad, I finally made it. Well, it turns out my atlas went out even further, with no notable incidence, and put me in a significant amount of pain - I was at the point where I needed to lift my own head with my hands out of bed for a week and so I called and they fit me in for x-rays soon thereafter. I was able to get my first adjustment 2 days after the X-rays and noticed a good level of results immediately. Through asking Dr. Nygaard and Lesa questions in addition to casual internet research, I came to find out it's very normal for the atlas to keep going out consistently for up to 2 months or longer for most people before it starts staying in place. Because of this, I needed to go in twice a week (they are only open 2 days a week, Mon & Wed) to get my atlas adjusted, as well as a few other spots along my spine. Crazy, but I found out experientially through the pelvic/low back adjustments that my lower back pain was due to being out of alignment there too... I had no idea! Again, I just thought the level of pain/ discomfort was "normal" for someone my age. So we've been working on 4 different spots all along my spine, and my overall discomfort has gone way down. I'm very happy with the results after 3 months! It took 2 months almost to the day for my atlas to start maintaining alignment consistently, and the other work has been great too. The doctor's dog Jamal is an old, wise, friend, and helped me through it all with his gentle encouragement as well. Overall the costs have been of good value, the office has a positive vibe, the doctor is highly experienced and well educated, and the location is convenient. When I first started on my "wellness" journey with Dr. Nygaard, I was barely functioning on a physical level due to a multitude of conditions which were exacerbated by a bus crash that I had survived in Iceland two years ago. My neck, shoulders, spine, ribs and hips were all out of alignment and badly affecting my posture. These in turn were affecting my overall health; increasing pain levels and causing my deteriorating mental outlook. I was seriously wondering whether or not life was worth living anymore. Dr. Nygaard's treatments have given me my life and health back! After 9 months of two treatments a week, followed by spinal de-compression, I have regained not only my formal cheery outlook on life, but mobility and alignment that is equal to my pre-crash days. Over the course of another few months, I hope that the momentum that I have gained will exceed what I lost and bring me to a point where I feel a full 10 years younger. I dare to say one wouldn't recognize the me of January with the me of August! Kudos to Dr. Nygaard and his team for all they have done to help me in this amazing recovery! I can't say enough for what Atlas Brain + Body Chiropractic's methodologies and techniques can accomplish with a time commitment from the patient with Dr. Nygaard's talent and experience! My experience at Atlas Brain and Body has seriously been life changing. I was having 14 migraines per month with shoulder and neck pain and my anxiety and nervous system was completely out of whack. I have been to see the Doc 6 times and had 2 atlas adjustments and after years of feeling terrible I am starting to feel like myself. I have had only one migraine since coming and had been receiving manual adjustments for years and atlas adjustments are where it's at. The doctor truly has a passion for what he does. I could go on and on about the staff they are friendly, knowledgeable, and have made me feel like family not to mention the cutest dog Jamal. The staff doesn't know this but Jamal is who helped me sit in my anxiety weekly coming back. He offers so much emotional support when I was first coming to the office with my entire nervous system disregulated. I wish more people knew about this type of chiropractic care.

Dr.Nygaard and Lesa are incredibly kind, accommodating, and knowledgeable. My quality of life has IMMENSELY improved since coming here a year ago. I have Ehlers Danlos and was living with chronic pain, I feel like I’ve gotten my life back! I highly recommend this office to people with EDS like me.

As a 56 year old woman with Ehler's Danlos Syndrome, I searched for a chiropractor who works with cervical spine issues (and a focus on the Atlas) basically as a last resort effort before considering neck surgery. I found Dr. Nygaard and Lesa to be friendly, skilled and thoughtful with the approach to my treatment plan. I did not have high expectations and have been really wonderfully surprised at the difference in my pain, function , mood and cognition. My atlas (upper cervical spine) misalignment was contributing to so many problems and, as a nurse practitioner, I hadn't understood the magnitude with which the misalignment could contribute to nervous system problems and chronic fatigue symptoms. I am truly grateful for the treatment I have received and the improvements in all of my varied symptoms and function and encourage people who are considering neck surgery to try this kind of chiropractic care first!
