St. Cloud Orthopedic Associates, Ltd. was founded in 1955 by Dr. Edward LaFond, who brought the orthopedic specialty to Central Minnesota.
In 1977, we opened our Physical Therapy department to care for musculoskeletal injuries. Six years later, the Orthopedic Sports Center was opened to provide physical and sports therapy and athletic training services throughout Minnesota. We added the High Energy Advanced Training (H°E°A°T°) Program in 1999 to help athletes excel in their physical performance.

Great experience. I am 35weeks pregnant and have HORRIBLE carpal tunnel. I talked about my concerns and how I just wanted my hands and arms to be better and he told me all my safe options for my baby and I. Ended up choosing injections to help with inflammation and the pain. Fingers crossed it helps for my last 5 weeks!!
I had a good visit with Hans Backlund. He has such a nice personality and he makes you feel cared for! Dr. Mulder is a great surgeon and I would highly recommend him for knee replacement.
I broke my ankle and was recommended to st cloud orthopedics by friends and my dr referred me to Dr. McCann. When we met he went over my injury and took the time to come up with a game plan and ease my fear of having my first ever surgery at 53 years of age. The surgery went great and he did a wonderful job! Had my follow-up visit after 10 days and all is healing nicely. He answered my questions I had and has been great to work with. Definitely would recommend.
