Mike graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University Northridge with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in health science and physical therapy. He has received his Certification as a Functional Manual Therapist from the Institute of Physical Art. With functional manual therapy, Mike learned the rare balance of skilled soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, prescriptive exercise and functional retraining to restore normal movement patterns. Mike has taken over 70 continued education courses to keep up to date on changes in his field and has also taught IPA courses to physical therapists and interns.After co-owning a physical therapy clinic from 1997 to 2005, Mike Burns followed his desire to keep a small practice with a personal touch and opened Custom Physical Therapy with partner, Angela Spruill.
