John is a published Systems Biologist specializing in ecology, behavior, and taxonomy. In 1996, he visited an acupuncturist for a nagging back pain. The treatments resolved the pain, and filled him with an imperative to study acupuncture. Over the last 17 years, John has been actively pursuing studies in wisdom traditions and healing arts with practitioners across the United States, Mexico, Japan, China, Tibet, and Thailand. Today, as a PDX acupuncturist and herbalist, John provides the best of an ancient medicine for people to thrive.In 1996 John was a published systems biologist with low back pain. He saw a chiropractor two times a week. Reluctantly, he visited an acupuncturist. The results were amazing. After a few treatments, the pain was gone. As a scientist, John needed some answers and has been studying ever since. Today, The WellBridge Clinic in Portland provides a wide range of health care solutions for the skeptical first timers as well as the seasoned veterans who have experienced the benefits of Traditional East Asian Medicine.

My husband has been seen at this clinic by Dr.Rybak multiple times over the last few years. After sustaining a neck injury, I quickly found that the standard medical approaches weren’t working for my pain. Being 20 weeks pregnant, the treatment options were limited. After one acupuncture session with Dr.Rybak, my pain has significantly decreased. I no longer have to rely on Tylenol or frequent applications of topical pain relief cream. I was able to return to work and care for my toddler without experiencing constant pain. Thank you for your excellent care!

Dr. John is truly incredible. I’ve never had a doctor listen so attentively or ask such thoughtful, insightful questions. He genuinely wants to understand what’s happening in your body and begin the journey toward healing. I decided to check out acupuncture after I hurt my hip and was unable to run or walk without pain, Dr. John listened and began treatment. It’s been amazing and so incredibly helpful with the pain! I’ve struggled with stomach issues for most of my life and always assumed it was just something I had to live with—but Dr. John immediately said, “Nope, we’re going to figure this out!” I was nervous to try acupuncture at first, but his kindness and patience completely put me at ease. Now, I actually look forward to my acupuncture sessions.
