How to Reset Your Password and Recover Account Access

Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Locked out of your Medximity account? Follow these steps to restore access fast — whether you've forgotten your password, lost access to your email, or hit a login error.

Reset Your Password (Fastest Path)

Use this path if you remember your registered email address.

  1. Go to medximity.com/login.
  2. Click Forgot Password? below the login fields.
  3. Enter your registered email address and click Send Reset Link.
  4. Open the email and click Reset My Password.
  5. Enter and confirm your new password, then click Save Password.

If You Don't Receive the Reset Email

If you're wondering why you didn't receive the password reset email, check these items first:

  • Check your spam or junk folder for an email from [email protected].
  • Confirm you entered the exact email address on your account — typos are common.
  • Add [email protected] to your safe senders list, then request a new link.
  • If your organization uses email filtering (common in medical practices), ask your IT administrator to allowlist the Medximity domain.

If Your Reset Link Has Expired

Password reset links are valid for 60 minutes. If your link has expired, return to the login page and click Forgot Password? to generate a new one. Do not reuse a previous email — only the most recent link is active.

If You No Longer Have Access to Your Registered Email

To recover your account without access to your registered email address — or if you need to reset your password without a phone number on file — you must contact Medximity Support directly. Standard self-service recovery cannot be completed without verified email access.

Have the following ready to verify your identity:

  • Your full name and practice name
  • Your NPI number (providers) or account username
  • The new email address you want associated with the account

Two-Factor Authentication Issues

If your two-factor authentication code is not working at login:

  • Confirm your device clock is set to automatic — time sync errors cause code failures.
  • Use the current code; codes expire every 30 seconds.
  • Click Use a backup code if you saved backup codes during 2FA setup.
  • If you no longer have access to your authenticator app or backup codes, contact Support to reset 2FA on your account.

Account Lockout: What Triggers It and How to Resolve It

Your account locks automatically after 5 consecutive failed login attempts. This is standard security behavior on the Medximity platform.

To resolve a lockout:

  1. Wait 30 minutes — the lock clears automatically.
  2. Use Forgot Password? to reset your credentials before trying again.
  3. If the account remains locked after 30 minutes, contact Support.

Browser Troubleshooting for Login Issues

If you can't log in and your browser appears to be the issue:

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies, then reload the login page.
  • Disable browser extensions, particularly ad blockers and privacy tools, which can block the reset email flow.
  • Try an incognito or private browsing window.
  • Supported browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari (latest two versions). Internet Explorer is not supported.

Provider and Practice Staff Account Recovery

Medximity uses role-based access. If medical office staff account recovery access has been lost, the resolution path depends on your role:

  • Account Owner (Provider): Follow the standard reset steps above or contact Support with your NPI.
  • Staff/Admin Users: Your Account Owner can reset your credentials from Account Settings > Team Members > Manage Access.
  • Account Owner is unavailable: Contact Support — identity verification is required before access is restored.

Still Need Help?

If none of the steps above resolved your login issue, Medximity Support can recover your account directly.

Include your practice name and NPI in your message to speed up verification. Response time is one business day.
