Dr Whalen received his undergraduate degree in Nursing from SDSU in 1978 and spent 10 years working in emergency and on the Life Flight helicopter before graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic-West in 1986. He is Board Certified in Chiropractic Neurology and is recognized as an expert in Workers Compensation and PI. His practice focuses on injured workers, auto accident victims and general neuromusculoskeletal conditions such as back and neck pain, headache, whiplash, foot problems and more. Dr Whalen served as President of the California Chiropractic Association and chaired the national organization which develops evidence-based chiropractic guidelines. He has published numerous papers in the scientific literature, on topics ranging from disc injuries to treatment guidelines. He also provides continuing education to his peers as well as to M.D.'s. Dr Whalen was named Student of the Year, New Doctor of the Year and Doctor of the Year by the CCA.We first moved the Santee in the late 1980's when we saw a need for better access to chiropractic care for residents of East County. Our first office was across from the Sheriff''s office on Cuyamaca. In 2005 we moved to the new Cuyamaca Towne Commons across from Rio Seco School on Cuyamaca near Mast. Dr Whalen is Board Certified as a chiropractic neurologist, and has extensive experience in a variety of chiropractic techniques. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, California Chiropractic Association, American Public Health Association, International College of Chiropractors, and International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology, He was president of the California Chiropractic Association, and is the Emeritus Chair of the Clinical Compass, the national organization charged with advancing research and guidelines for the chiropractic profession.
