I saw Dr. Lauren multiple times while my son was 1-3 months old due to body tension and visible tongue tie. Not only was Dr. Lauren extremely knowledgable about the total body effects of tongue tie and helpful with practical decisions regarding my son’s health, she also listened in such a tender way to honor my role as his mom. I was new to the world of cranial sacral therapy, but I see my 7 month old son now thriving and I’m sure much of that came from the work we did with Dr. Lauren early in his life.

I have had wonderful experiences with both Dr. Jake and Dr. Lauren Dodds at Spark Wellness. Before starting upper cervical chiropractic I was having a lot of neck and shoulder pain/tightness and terrible headaches. I had no idea that my neck was out of alignment, especially since I had been seeing a traditional chiropractor for 5+ years. I love upper cervical chiropractic because it’s gentle and based on imaging. It’s completely tailored to your individual needs, not a one size fits all like traditional chiropractic. And there’s no popping or rough adjustments. I leave every appointment feeling like I just did something kind to my body. Like I am helping myself truly heal. The NUCCA method Dr. Dodds does, is the ONLY technique that can CURE migraine pain even in the middle of one! This is NOT your typical “chiropractor”. I experienced a horrific neck injury a year ago (Sept 25th, 2023 in Montgomery AL) due to a average style chiropractor doing a harsh neck adjustment resulting in such severe pain I was vomiting for weeks, dizziness, morning sickness feeling (without pregnancy) for months on end, unable to drive, or function as a mom with normal tasks for months, even with a neck brace…. I Had MRI & CT scans, seeing a neurosurgeon and going to pain management, had RFA done to burn nerves in my neck, 2 cervical nerve blocks, occipital nerve block, and Botox injections into scalp & upper trap. It was not until I experienced the NUCCA technique that I FINALLY got relief, SO much better relief than even all the nerve blocks and procedures done at pain management!! There are few NUCCA specific trained practitioners like Dr. Dodds, so few, that I believe this location is the ONLY one in the state of Alabama…. So I drive 6 hours round trip to be adjusted by Dr. Dodds. I also travel 10 hours round trip to Nashville TN or 15 hours round trip to Orlando FL. This is how RARE and unique this specific method is. What a blessing if you live in this area - it is WORTH the trip!! The membership is WORTH the sign up as I have been to MANY different chiropractors as well as several NUCCA providers and Dr. Dodds is reasonably priced yet has the MOST high tech scans out of ALL chiropractors & all NUCCA providers I’ve ever seen (I have been to a lot - military). Even if you visit just 2x per month it’s worth the membership, if you’re local you obviously have a excellent set up. This works well for patient & doctor as you can get help anytime you need pain relief… you’ll find you get within (in my case) 2-4 months where you go longer and longer between adjustments and it’s very different with NUCCA where you truly do end up not needing regular adjustments anymore as your body holds the correct alignment better and better…. EVEN with a horrible neck injury where I thought my case was hopeless and medical doctors essentially told me nothing else they could do except manage the pain. It’s not true though - NUCCA trained providers like Dr. Dodds have hope again and I’ve gotten my life back! This is HUGE for such an injury and over 2 decades suffering from migraines, to finally have TRUE RELIEF!! Twice I have been seen with an active migraine or severe headache escalating quickly enough that I am close to needing a toradol injection…. Dr. Dodds adjusted me, I sat back up, and all pain was GONE! There is a MASSIVE difference between a “chiropractor” and what NUCCA is. Cannot recommend highly enough especially for neck/migraine issues specifically.

I have been to several Chiropractors throughout my life, and everything was temporary. I have nerve damage, headaches, numbness in hands and feet, ringing in the ears. I have had several visits now with Spark Wellness Upper Cervical treatment getting to the root of cause. I feel so much better. I believe this new way of Chiropractic is the way to go.
