Dr Chris Zander is past president of the Oregon Chiropractic Assoc. a graduate of the University of Illinois and published Arthritis researcher at Chicago's Northwestern University's Feinberg Medical School prior to becoming a Chiropractor. His research has been published in prominent international science journals. In his Chiropractic career he has obtained invaluable experience and has also been a treating physician for local professional sporting teams and events. Dr Zander has not just limited his practice to athletes but treats all kinds of injuries and health problems of both the young and old. These experiences have allowed him the opportunity to create a strong understanding of injuries and health, as well to become a master at Chiropractic adjusting and a leader within the health care profession.Treatment at Portland Backsmith focuses on the bodies own ability to heal and reducing stress (physical, emotional and chemical) load on the body. It can be easily understood that a joint problem can cause pain, as well it can put stress on gentle nerves throughout the body. This can change how muscles contract, cause numbness, tingling and weakness and can mess with hormones, blood pressure, etc...
