I began my chiropractic practice in Encinitas in 1981. Previously I was an associate in another doctor's practice for one and a half years. That practice was a high volume practice where patients had about seven minutes with the doctor. It got to the point where I couldn't look a patient in the eyes and tell her/him that I was providing a complete form of treatment for her/him. Since opening my practice in 1981, the appointments with each patient have been for one hour. This gives plenty of time for effective therapy. Another important part of treatment is for the patient to be instructed in how to improve their habits so that they stress their body less. I also instruct patients in how to effectively do self treatment at home. This self treatment is simple. It doesn't need to be done every day and usually takes 20 - 30 minutes a day. I designed my practice to be a place where I would want to receive treatment and where I would want my family to go if they needed help.
