Physical Therapist STOTT Pilates® Certified Instructor Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist Sara is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Cellular Biology and received her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1999. After experiencing the effects of pilates exercise in her own body, Sara became interested in incorporating pilates exercise into her own physical therapy practice. After taking the STOTT Pilates® mat course designed for healthcare professionals in 2002, she continued her training and is now a certified Level 1 STOTT Pilates® instructor. In addition to STOTT Pilates® instruction, Sara offers her physical therapy services utilizing osteopathic manual therapy, strain-counterstrain techniques, and neurodynamic approaches. Sara has been featured on Atlanta's Fox 5 HealthWatch, contributed articles to the Better Health section of the AJC since 2006 and to SpineUniverse, an online resource for spine health.Sara began her physical therapy career working in an outpatient orthopedic clinic in Atlanta. She was recognized by referral sources as a therapist who focused on client's individual needs and provided quality therapy to satisfied clients. Sara recognized what her clients wanted and would benefit from; her knowledge and skills on a one-on-one basis and access to her not just for rehabilitation but for fitness and prevention. During this time Sara became interested in STOTT Pilates® and received her certification. Sara began to incorporate her Pilates training into her physical therapy practice and saw how the method could effectively be applied throughout the continuum of care. The concept of Inspire Health was conceived; a facility where healthcare professionals could collaborate on client care, services would be provided in a one-on-one setting and offered across a continuum of care from rehabilitation and pain management to fitness, wellness and sports enhancement.
