As a lifelong athlete with a competitive spirit, I thrive on challenges. Yet, my journey wasn't always paved with a champion's mindset. As a teenage athlete, I grappled with performance anxiety, overwhelming pressure to excel, and dwindling confidence in my quest for victory. These struggles persisted into adulthood, trapping me in a relentless cycle of achievement, leaving me unfulfilled and weighed down by anxiety, depression and frustration. It wasn't until I found the power to cultivate my own confidence that I broke free from the suffocating cloud of achievement pressure. This pivotal revelation allowed me to continue achieving while enjoying the journey. It's this very transformation that drove me to establish Bay Laurel Athletics. My mission is to help middle school and high school athletes discover the confidence, success, and pure enjoyment they deserve in every step of their athletic journey. As a former competitive athlete in varsity tennis and a national cheerleading champion, she understands the physical and mental demands of high-level competitive sports. Armed with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Massachusetts General Hospital-Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA, and an Orthopedic Clinical Specialty, Dr. Laurel commands the highest level of expertise. Her unwavering passion to support young athletes led to the establishment of Bay Laurel Athletics. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Laurel is skilled in blood flow restriction, myofascial decompression, instrument assisted mobilization, manual therapy and therapeutic exercise. She has been a driving force for positive change in the lives of numerous athletes, aiding them in overcoming injuries, attaining peak performance and developing mental fortitiude for success.
