Judy has been involved with alternative and holistic wellness since 1991. Her initial training was in the field of Reiki and Reflexology, but has continued to expand over the years to include a wide range of healing modalities. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, she has training in shiatsu, neuromuscular, craniosacral and tui na. While she is a Reiki Master, her training in energetic healing also includes Sechim, Touch for Health, Kinesiology, Thought Field Therapy and Metamorphosis/Metamorphic Technique. The majority of her work involves a combination of many of these therapies into what she calls BodyMind Integrated Reflexology. By incorporating and applying portions of these various techniques, she is able to treat the client as a whole, not just physically but emotionally and spiritually as well. Randy helps manage the business side of things including customer service, scheduling, answering calls and marketing.Judy opened her first wellness center in Old Towne Gaithersburg in 1993. While continuing her work as a surgical operating technician in labor and delivery, she worked part-time to build an established clientele of reflexology and shiatsu massage clients. In February of 1998, she formed a partnership with Randy to open Relaxing Alternatives Wellness Center in a new facility on Muddy Branch Road in Gaithersburg. Starting with a small staff of one massage therapist and one colon hydrotherapist, the center continued to grow as demand and awareness for holistic wellness services increased. After just 6 months, we expanded the facility and began to add more practitioners. Today, Relaxing Alternatives has a staff of about 15 people, including two receptionists, two acupuncturists, two colon hydrotherapists, six massage therapists, and two aestheticians. In April of 2010, we relocated to our current office location on N. Frederick Avenue.
