Drs. Jay and Mabel Austin graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1911. That same year they moved to San Jose, CA to start what would become the Austin family legacy. After graduating from Northern California Chiropractic College, their son Abbott Austin joined the practice in 1936. After that, Abbott's son, Douglas Austin began working at the practice after graduating from Los Angeles Chiropractic College in 1957. Dr. Douglas Austin's sons, Thomas and Richard, both graduated from Los Angeles Chiropractic College and joined the practice in 1983. The most recent addition to the practice is Thomas's daughter, Dr. Meghan Dowling, who graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic West just in time for the practice's 100 year anniversary in December 2011.

Austin Family Chiropractic has been in business in San Jose, CA for over 100 years. The practice is currently run by Dr. Thomas Austin and Dr. Meghan Dowling, 4th and 5th generation chiropractors, respectively. At Austin Family Chiropractic you can expect to experience the chiropractic art form at its best. Dr. Austin and Dr. Dowling practice Diversified chiropractic technique. Physiotherapy techniques such as myofascial release, electrical stimulation, Graston, kinesiotape, heat and cold are also utilized to ensure the best outcome for your condition. Dr. Dowling is certified in Webster technique, which is a pregnancy-specific technique that helps relieve pain and can help the baby achieve the optimal position for birth, which can reduce labor times and pain in labor. We see patients of all ages, from 1 day old to 100+ years old!
