About
David participated as an athlete at Peak Performance Project under Dr. Marcus Elliot, a Harvard-trained physician applying sports science in the care of professional athletes. He is a former baseball player and powerlifting competitor with a 0.385 batting average for UCLA’s club baseball team and 600-pound competition deadlift. David frequents rock climbing gyms and finds himself getting lost on runs with his dog on new terrains.Insurance-based physical therapy practices get paid per service, not per positive outcome. Electrical stimulation, ultrasound, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise are examples of services. The more units billed, the more money made. Unfortunately, insurance-based clinics commonly quadruple-book patients who don’t seem to improve. Associated clinicians spread themselves thin on a daily basis, a formula for mediocrity.
Insurance providers don’t dictate our care, so we aren’t incentivized to rack up unnecessary units. As an out-of-network practice, we uphold the integrity of our brand and cannot afford nor desire to play games. We don’t toss you to an aide after 15 minutes. We provide specific solutions for specific problems to minimize your pain and prevent flare-ups down the road.
