Jenny Lightstone considers it an honor to contribute to a profession that has played such an integral role in her own health and development. A former competitive gymnast and state-champion springboard diver, she first discovered massage therapy as a child, when it was used to treat her sports-related back injuries. That experience taught her firsthand about the immediate and long-term difference that massage therapy can make in people's lives--and it sparked her decision to first become a practitioner, and now owner in a field that will be a life-long pursuit.Psoas (so-as) was founded in 2003 by a group of like-minded therapists who shared a vision for a different kind of massage business - one designed not as a spa but as a serious clinic, where clients could come to get healthier, feel better in their bodies, become better athletes, and address injuries that other methods could not seem to touch.

Today, that initial Psoas vision has grown into a thriving business. Psoas is now an established name in sports massage and clinical bodywork in San Francisco, boasting an astounding 90 percent client return rate.

Psoas maintains the highest standards in massage therapy, requiring therapists to have over 1000 hours of education, a city license for practicing, and a minimum of 500 hours of client experience. Psoas continues to be therapist-owned and operated, ensuring that our business goals are centered on providing the most knowledgeable massage therapy available.
