Dr. Nikhil Verma is a sports medicine specialist and orthopedic surgeon serving the greater Chicago, Westchester, Oakbrook and Hindsdale, Illinois communities. Dr. Verma specializes in treatments of the shoulder, knee and elbow, as well as sports related injuries. With advanced arthroscopic reconstructive techniques and cartilage restoration expertise, he strives to keep patients involved in an active lifestyle.

As Chief of Sports Medicine, Dr. Verma supervises the clinical and basic science research that is conducted at Rush University Medical Center.

Dr. Verma recognizes that an orthopedic or sports injury impacts all aspects of a patient's life. He takes the time to thoroughly explain non-surgical and surgical treatment options as well as possible outcomes so each patient is empowered to make the best decision for his or her particular case. He strives to return all patients - from weekend warriors to professional athletes - back to their previous activity levels.A graduate of the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine, Dr. Verma completed his orthopedic residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York in sports medicine and shoulder surgery.

Dr. Verma performs over 500 orthopedic and sports medicine procedures per year and serves as a team physician for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bulls and Nazareth Academy. He is also actively involved in orthopedic research, as well as advanced arthroscopic reconstructive techniques and cartilage restoration techniques.

Dr. Verma, sports medicine specialist and orthopedic surgeon, has authored a number of peer-reviewed manuscripts in major orthopedic and sports medicine journals, numerous book chapters and routinely serves as teaching faculty for orthopedic courses on advanced surgical techniques. He has been elected by his peers to "Best Doctors in America" every year since 2007.
