The history of APTS began in 2003: Our founder, Laura Schindler, had been a practicing Physical Therapist for 12 years. She had a passion for her patients and her profession but felt that normal protocols prevented practitioners from providing a complete treatment of one-on-one patient care.

In typical rehabilitation facilities, the Physical Therapist evaluates the patient, but turns the actual care over to an assistant or aide. Laura wanted to do things differently - she wanted to be a partner with her patients from assessment through healing. And she wanted to surround herself with colleagues who shared her desire and passion for this more personal and individualized approach to patient care.

In 2004, Laura took that passion for her work and desire for one-on-one care and opened Advanced Physical Therapy Solutions. With a small bank loan, a therapy ball and a piece of PVC piping, she opened her private practice.
