Dr. Burrus has worked with several high school and NCAA Division I athletic programs (University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University). In addition, he formerly assisted with the Under 18 USA Hockey National Team Development Program and provided sideline coverage for the International Champions Cup.

Dr. Burrus is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Texas Medical Association, and Travis County Medical Society. He has written over 45 research articles along with 12 book chapters, and been involved in over 65 research presentations.

In his free time, Dr. Burrus enjoys golf, fly fishing, bird hunting, snow skiing, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
