Dr. Karen You, L.Ac., DAOM, third-generation acupuncturist, has provided Traditional Chinese Medicine services to the community alongside her father for many years. Now, she has expanded the practitioner team to help even more patients while honoring the lineage of skills passed down in her family. The You family has a longstanding history in the acupuncture profession in California, having worked closely alongside Governor Jerry Brown to establish acupuncture as a legally recognized and board regulated medical profession for the first time in state history in 1976.Johnson’s Acupuncture has been helping patients in San Francisco for more than 34 years. We are a multi-practitioner team that specializes in sports medicine (both acute and chronic pain), internal medicine, facial rejuvenation, and Chinese herbal medicine. We pride ourselves on precise clinical treatments through a combination of acupuncture and other Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities. We are family owned and currently operated by third generation acupuncturist Dr. Karen You, L.Ac., DAOM. The clinic is named after Dr. Karen You's father, the original clinic founder and renowned master acupuncturist and herbalist Dr. Johnson You, L.Ac., Ph.D. ​
