About

Dr. Petersen is a California native and a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic West. She completed her undergraduate education at UC Davis, where she earned a B.S. in Exercise Biology and she is also a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner®. She enjoys helping her patients with their injuries as well as empowering them to make choices that prolong their well being and mobility. When she is not assisting her patients, she's spending time with her husband and 2 children at home or at a park. Dr. Petersen (formerly Dr. Young) has always enjoyed working with people and wanted to do something that would make a positive impact. Functional Sports Chiropractic was formed to help people understand their injuries and teach them the tools they need to manage pain. Patient education and empowerment are paramount in building confidence in movement. She enjoys helping a variety of people, including athletes and office workers. Past clients have included triathletes, college athletes, musical theater performers, singers, dancers, and working parents who enjoy active lifestyles.
